Jake Epelle, a human rights activist and CEO of TAF Africa has spoken about one of the causes of the political crisis in Rivers State involving Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor former Governor Nyesom Wike
In a video recently shared on YouTube by Channels TV, Epelle said according to his research, 17 out of 19 commissioners in Fubara's government were appointed at the direction of former Governor Wike. He said this situation has led to resistance from Governor Fubara.
Epelle said the appointment of the said commissioners has created tensions and challenges for Governor Fubara as he seeks to assert his leadership and agenda for the state.
In Epelle's words: "There are 19 commissioners and 17 of them were directed for the appointment by Wike, the former Governor which is a resistance the current Governor is facing. There is also legal and legislative dispute surrounding the entire thing".
