In a friendly encounter on Thursday at the FIFA Goal Project Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja, Nigeria's under-17 national team defeated P. Sports Academy 6-0, according to Soccernet.ng.

The Golden Eaglets have played three friendly games against football academies in the Federal Capital Territory in the past three days, with one victory and two draws.

On Monday, April 23, the Eaglets opened the season with a 1-1 tie against Ikon-Allah Academy. On Tuesday, they drew again, this time with Miracle Football Academy.

The boys under Manu Garba's tutelage finally discovered their attacking spark against P. Sports Academy on Thursday.

In order to get ready for the WAFU B tournament, the five-time world champions scored twice in the first half and then exploded for four more goals in the second half.

Ghana will host the 2024 WAFU B U17 Championships, where Nigeria will try to defend the crown they took home from the regional competition in 2022.

There are only three teams in Group A: the host Ghana, Cote d'Ivoire, and the Benin Republic. Nigeria has been drawn with Burkina Faso, Niger, and Togo in Group B.

The competition is scheduled for May 15–29.

The Golden Eaglets have won a record five FIFA U-17 World Cup titles and finished third three times, making them the most successful team in international football for their age category.
