Nico Williams Stays Put: Athletic Club's Star Rejects Premier League Interest

According to evening standard; Nico Williams, the rising star of Spanish football, has seemingly shut down any potential summer transfer to the Premier League. The 21-year-old winger, who has attracted interest from both Arsenal and Chelsea, has indicated his desire to remain at Athletic Club, his boyhood club.

Williams' decision comes despite the significant interest from two of England's top clubs. His impressive performances for Athletic Club, coupled with his impressive displays for the Spanish national team, have made him a highly sought-after talent. However, the young winger appears committed to his current club, where he has blossomed into a key player.

His release clause, reportedly set at £49 million, could have tempted several clubs, but Williams' commitment to Athletic Club suggests a strong desire to continue his development and achieve success with his hometown team.

“It's hard to deal with, because everyone is constantly asking you what you're going to do with your future,” he told Spanish radio station RNE.

“I'm a 21-year-old kid who just wants to play football.

“I have already said that Athletic is my home. I only recently renewed [my contract]. I am very happy.

“[Inaki] has already experienced it. He had his moment many years ago with rumors from the outside. He knows what it’s like, he knows how you suffer and he knows what has to be done.”

Liverpool's Goalkeeping Search: Bento Emerges as a Potential Target

According to evening standard; Across the English football landscape, Liverpool are reportedly keeping a close eye on Brazilian goalkeeper Bento. The 25-year-old, who made his senior international debut earlier this year, has caught the attention of the Reds with his impressive performances in the Brazilian league.

Bento's emergence as a potential target for Liverpool suggests a desire to strengthen their goalkeeping options. While Alisson Becker remains a key figure for the Reds, the club may be looking for a reliable backup option or a potential long-term successor to the Brazilian international.

Bento's impressive performances and his recent international recognition have made him a hot commodity in the transfer market. Liverpool's interest in the Brazilian goalkeeper could signal a potential shift in their goalkeeping strategy, with the club looking to secure a talented and promising young goalkeeper for the future.
