Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Aide to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Media and Publicity, has asserted that President Tinubu is prepared to utilise the skills and knowledge of individuals, regardless of their religious affiliations or political leanings, to improve the Nigerian economy.

Speaking in an interview on TVC News Politics on Sunday, Ngelale said that this inclusive strategy is part of a broader vision to elevate the nation’s economic standing.

Ngelale explained that this approach is what led to the establishment of the Presidential Economic Coordination Council.

He stated that the council has been entrusted with a significant mission and provided with substantial resources to achieve its goals.

According to Ngelale, President Tinubu has introduced a comprehensive economic stabilisation package worth two trillion naira to support the council's efforts.

He said this initiative encompasses various sectors, each with defined objectives and specific timelines to ensure measurable progress.

Ngelale detailed that the energy sector within the council has been given the task of boosting the country’s grid electricity generation capacity.

He stated that the current generation level, which stands consistently at 4,500 megawatts, is to be increased to a minimum of 6,000 megawatts within the next six months.

Ngelale said that this goal is aimed at addressing the ongoing power supply issues that have long hampered Nigeria’s economic development.

Ngelale emphasised that the council's work is structured to deliver impactful results across various sectors. He said that the timeline for each sector has been carefully considered to ensure that progress is steady and sustainable.

Ngelale said, "Nobody has a monopoly of knowledge and wisdom, and this President is humble enough to understand that. The president is ready to tap into the best brains, irrespective of the God that they worship and irrespective of their political affiliation. The goal is to get the Nigerian economy to where we all want it to be."
