During a funeral service in Kericho County, Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen urged the government to take action against politicians leading extravagant lifestyles. He proposed conducting a comprehensive lifestyle audit on all politicians to tackle the issue of state and public officers living beyond their legitimate means.

Murkomen's remarks surfaced amidst accusations of misusing taxpayers' money to fund an extravagant lifestyle, contrasting sharply with the struggles of ordinary Kenyans. Allegedly, Murkomen and close associates of Ruto began undermining and making irresponsible public statements immediately after Ruto's election, accusing them of looting taxpayers money. Critics noted that such a lifestyle wasn't evident during Murkomen's tenure as Elgeyo Marakwet senator.

In response to criticisms that the Kenya Kwanza government has not achieved anything significant in the past year, leading to calls from Gen Z for Ruto's cabinet to be completely dissolved rather than reshuffled, Murkomen acknowledged the sentiment. He therefore expressed his readiness to engage with young people in X spaces to thoroughly explain their achievements as KK government

"Ruto attended the X (Twitter) space and his loudest critics ran away. I am ready to attend the X spaces even tomorrow so that we can tell Kenyans what we have done" says Murkomen ahead of the cabinet disbandment as call by Gen Z's

Murkomen further criticized youths who had previously expressed interest in engaging with Deputy President Ruto but became silent or disappeared after the President joined the discussion, referring to them as cowards.

Regarding the dissolution of the Cabinet Ministry, William Ruto emphasized that it is a challenging decision, not as straightforward as it may appear. He therefore explained that there are certain preparations and considerations he needs to address before proceeding with any cabinet changes.
