Aaron Uzodike, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who was declared the winner of the March 18, 2023, House of Assembly election by the Court of Appeal, has renewed his appeal to the Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Emmanuel Emereuwa, to swear him in as the representative of Aba North constituency.

Uzodike's journey to claim his seat in the assembly has been marked by legal battles and delays. On November 27, 2023, the Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos declared him the rightful winner of the election, ousting Mr. Destiny Nwagwu of the Labour Party (LP) from office.

Speaking to journalists in Umuahia about his ordeal, Uzodike urged Governor Alex Otti to uphold the rule of law and intervene to ensure his swift inauguration. He emphasized that his constituency had been without representation for five months, highlighting the urgency of his request.

As reported by Daily Post, during the interview, Uzodike presented his Certificate of Return and a certified true copy of the court judgment, dated December 13, 2023, issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Despite possessing these documents, he expressed shock at the continued delay in his swearing-in.
