Police Nab Suspects And Recover Goods Stolen From Nyeri MP Supermarket

The Kenya police have earlier apprehended several suspects connected to the looting of supermarkets believed to be owned By Kieni MP Hon. Anthony Wainaina Njoroge.

They managed to recover some of the stolen goods from chieni supermarkets in Nyeri and Nyanyuki located in Nyeri and Laikipia counties respectively. Some of the goods recovered were washing machines, refrigerators, cutlery, cookers among other goods.

The few apprehended suspects were caught as a result of the videos circulating on the internet during the breaking in, looting and arson of the supermarket during the nationwide finance bill protests.

One suspect identified as 24 years old Chris Wamuha was arrested in a rental in Nyanyuki with stolen Uken water dispenser, Hisense fridge, coffee cups and other cutlery. His image was captured from the circulating phone recording video.

In the outskirts of the town, 35 years old Charles Kariri Mumbi was also arrested with a stolen junior riding bicycle while John Ndirangu aged 41 was arrested with a LG refrigerator and half a dozen of vacuum flasks.

Investigations is still underway to recover other stolen goods and apprehend suspects.
