The operation, carried out by the CP Tactical Team, has resulted in the arrest of at least 10 individuals, including passersby and suspected criminals. The residents, who spoke to PUNCH Metro, acknowledged the need for police action against petty robbers but feared that the approach may lead to unjust arrests. They urged the police to ensure proper scrutiny of suspects to avoid wrongful punishment. The Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayoade, has allayed the fears of the residents, assuring them that measures are in place to prevent innocent arrests and that any mistakenly arrested individuals will be promptly released.

The raid is part of a renewed effort by the police to address the rampant cases of petty robberies in the area. The Commissioner of Police had earlier embarked on a fact-finding mission to the area, following complaints from residents.
