Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang says his visit to the United States Institute for Peace has provided him and some other northern governors a broader perspective on how to tackle security challenges in their states.
AIT reported that, He made this known on Monday on his arrival from the United States of America where he attended a Peace summit together with some Northern Governors.
The governor was welcomed at Yakubu Gowon Airport Haipang by a large contingent of government officials and party supporters.
Governor Mutfwang stated that international cooperation is required to address the current security issues that some northern states are facing since they are taking on an international scope.
The governor went to Plateau State University in Bokkos shortly after arriving; the university has recently made headlines due to violence in the host town.
While expressing gratitude to the governor for the visit, the institution's vice chancellor listed a number of the difficulties it is now facing.
The governor promised the university community that his administration would not back down from stopping the ongoing attacks and that the university will be elevated to an unparalleled level under his leadership.
