Nigeria's Sports Minister, Senator John Enoh, has sparked controversy by questioning the commitment of Super Eagles players born abroad, according to OwnGoalNigeria. In a recent interview with Eagle FM, the minister expressed concerns about the passion and dedication of players who didn't grow up in Nigeria.

The Super Eagles boast a significant number of players born or raised overseas, including William Troost-Ekong, Ademola Lookman, and Alex Iwobi. While these players have Nigerian heritage, the minister wonders if they truly embody the spirit of Nigerian football.

"We have about 90% of players not born in Nigeria. Do they have the spirit, the fire of a Nigerian player born in Nigeria?" the minister asked rhetorically. "There are some players in the team who are not good enough for the Super Eagles. We talk of the quality of the coach, but what of the quality of the players in the team?"

The minister's comments have sparked a heated debate among Nigerian football fans. Some agree with his concerns, while others see it as a needless attack on players who have represented Nigeria with pride.
