Today in the afternoon, the inspector general of police in the republic of Kenya, Mr Japheth Koome has been handed some bad news. This came in after reports emerged on a message that the senators have sent to president William Ruto just a day after Gen Z protests.
As reported by the standard digital, senators are now urging president William Ruto to quickly remove Mr Koome from his office. According to senators, Koome failed to protect the people of Kenya during the protests that took place last week and yesterday. Senators also wants the president to disband unconstitutional offices citing opulence.
"Senators ask President Ruto to dismiss Police IG Japhet Koome over failure to protect Kenyans during anti-Finance Bill protests; want ‘unconstitutional’ offices disbanded citing opulence." Says the reports. This is not the first time politicians are calling for Koome 's removal. Last year, Raila Odinga called for his resignation over police brutality witnessed during his protests. He even threatened to take him to ICC.
