Tinubu Met Worst Govt In Nigeria’s History– Edwin Clark

Elder statesman, Chief Edwin Clark said he would not assess President Bola Tinubu’s administration after only one year in office because of the daunting challenges inherited from its predecessor.

Clark, 97, described the immediate-past administration of Muhammadu Buhari as the worst in Nigeria’s history.

The Southern and Middle-Belt Leaders Forum (SMBLF) leader said this in an interview with Saturday Sun in Abuja.

Asked to assess Tinubu’s performance so far, Clark said, “No, I don’t comment on that because I think one year is too early. He met the worst government in Nigeria; that is what he inherited. I told him when they were doing June 12 that there’s nothing to celebrate.

“What did Buhari’s government ever produce? And then because you are APC and you will continue with his programme, with his policy, then you will find it difficult.

“So as far as I’m concerned, it will not be difficult for the President to correct some of the numerous mistakes or misadministration of Buhari.

“So I am saying that, for me, I won’t assess him. He has a lot he is doing now.

Clark described Tinubu’s decision to remove fuel subsidy as a “bold step”, stating that former President Goodluck Jonathan attempted it but had to reconsider following public outcry.

However, he said the president should have envisaged the fallouts of subsidy removal and prepared earlier with countermeasures.

“One would have expected that President Tinubu, who had been an administrator, who had been a governor for eight years, who had played politics as a Senator, knew very well that every action he takes, there’ll be consequences.

Edo: APC Not Behind PDP Crisis–Oshiomhole

Edo North Senator, Adams Oshiomhole has distanced the All Progressives Congress, APC, from the crisis surrounding the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, primary election in the state.

Oshiomhole said the law does not allow APC to interfere in PDP’s primary election conflict.

The Abuja Federal High Court had nullified the primary elections conducted by the PDP that produced Asue Ighodalo as its governorship candidate in Edo State.

The court voided the primary election conducted on February 22, 2024, because 378 delegates were unlawfully excluded by PDP.

However, Oshiomhole speaking with journalists yesterday in Abuja, said: “This is purely PDP intra-party, and I think the lesson is very clear, namely that parties must be encouraged to obey the laws that regulate the conduct of primaries.

“By the law, another party cannot go into intra-party conflicts in court.

“I think you should dismiss that because this is PDP versus PDP and you know that by the law, another party cannot go into intra-party conflicts in court. So if it is convenient for them to explain that you can dismiss it without asking me.

“The fact that there had been division in Edo before their primaries and after their primaries is an open secret, and the issues in dispute are also very open.

“The PDP legacy group complained that the man they gave their master bedroom has completely chased them out of the building and now they’re under the rain and as we speak they are still trying to settle.”

Rivers Crisis:Wike is Fubara’s Mentor, Political Investment –APC Chairman

The All Progressives Congress, APC, Caretaker Committee Chairman of Rivers State, Tony Okocha has described the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike as the mentor of Governor Sim Fubara.

Okocha said Fubara was Wike’s political investment, stressing that the former wouldn’t have been a governor without the backing of the minister.

Featuring on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Okocha also explained the reason behind the rift between Wike and Fubara.

According to Okocha, the need to preserve Wike’s political structure in Rivers was behind the feud with Fubara.

He said: “Governor Fubara is Wike’s political investment.

“From civil servant to the candidate of a party and delivering him in 23 local governments out of 23, the first in our history, all of these were Wike’s ability to manoeuvre.

“The former governor has said, ‘I am not asking you for anything. I am only saying that you are destroying the structure that produced you.’

“If you are a politician, no politician will allow his structure to be dismantled. When you do that, it means that you have no home to fall back to. That is the issue.”

No Amount Of Anointing Can Fight Sexual Temptation–Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has said he is still wary of sexual immorality despite his ‘anointing’ and years in the ministry.

Adeboye said despite his age, he runs faster than before to avoid any form of sexual temptation, noting that no amount of anointing can fight such temptation.

The cleric also warned ministers of the gospel to be wary of sexual immorality and the erroneous belief that their ‘anointing’ could help them withstand any temptation.

He stated these during a sermon at the just concluded Ministers & Workers Conference of RCCG Americas 1, which consists of North, Central & Caribbean with the theme: “The Glory Ahead”.

During the sermon shared on his YouTube page on Friday, Adeboye noted that Samson, who was a judge in Israel, fell into sexual immorality despite the anointing over him.

He said, “Somebody says, at your age, why are you still running? I run faster than before because the closer you get to the finishing point, the more careful you must be.

“Some of you can say, ‘Daddy, what are you saying, are you still running?’ I run fast.
