Happening Now: Thousands of Youths Chant anti-Ruto Slogans Before Leaving Uhuru Park

Thousands of Kenyans who had gathered at Uhuru Park on Sunday chanted anti-Ruto slogans before leaving the venue.

Thousands had attended the memorial concert at Uhuru Park in Nairobi, in honour of victims of police brutality during anti-government protests, as Kenyans mark Saba Saba Day.

The youths were heard chanting "Ruto must go" in unison as they counted the number of those killed by police.

The Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) reported that at least 39 people were killed and hundreds more injured in anti-government demonstration dissolution.

A section of Uhuru Park in Nairobi was filled with white crosses wrapped up in Kenyan flags bearing the names of some of the people who lost their lives during the anti-government protests.

The white crosses were strategically mounted a distance from where the memorial concert is being held in honour of protest victims.

Different attendees visited the site where the crosses were erected and paid their respect to those who lost their lives.

Azimio One Kenya Coalition on Sunday unleashed their intention to ouster President William Ruto from office despite the withdrawal of Finance bill 2024.

Azimio leaders, including Kalonzo Musyoka, Eugene Wamalwa and Peter Munya marked Saba Saba Day in Meru.
