In an interview with Channels Television, Alhaji Buba Galadima, the Secretary of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), addressed several pressing issues within the party. Among these was the internal crisis that has engulfed the party, with Galadima shedding light on the factional disputes and the alleged suspension of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the party's 2023 presidential candidate.

Regarding the purported suspension of Kwankwaso, Galadima emphasized the democratic principles at play and questioned the legitimacy of such an action. He pointed out the absence of a convention to elect national officers of the party, casting doubt on the authority of anyone claiming to suspend Kwankwaso. Galadima underscored the legal ramifications of such actions, asserting that individuals attempting to suspend Kwankwaso were acting outside the bounds of the law and could face legal consequences.

Galadima also highlighted the legal aspect of the situation, expressing his readiness to take legal action if Kwankwaso had indeed been suspended. He referenced a court ruling that prohibited certain individuals from assuming leadership positions within the NNPP, further complicating the validity of any purported suspension. Galadima's remarks shed light on the intricate dynamics within the NNPP and underscore the challenges the party faces in navigating its internal disputes while striving to maintain democratic principles and legal compliance.

He said: "This is democracy but you as a citizen of this country, do you believe that someone can suspend Kwankwaso from the party? Have you seen where they had a convention to elect national officers of the party? If it is not so, anybody suspending Kwankwaso is an interloper and a good candidate for the prison. Besides, I am not aware that Kwankwaso has been suspended because if I am aware, I would have gone back to the court, which said that they should never parade themselves even as members of NNPP let alone being officers of the party.
