Political expert Mutahi Ngunyi has urged Mount Kenya leaders not to overthrow Ruto in a coup in 2027. Ngunyi's admonition coincides with the emergence of a local voter movement that fosters cooperation in the endeavor to unseat Ruto.
The idea, in Ngunyi's opinion, was "foolish suicidal" and prematurely disclosed. The seasoned analyst issued a warning on Monday, saying that since the larger, artificially created Gema brotherhood has already shattered, he would oppose any attempts to bring the region together against Ruto. In this regard, the Mountain Kikuyus, Ruto's adversaries, are getting ready for the general election in 2027.
Much emphasis has been focused on the recent political changes in the Mount Kenya region. With regard to the Kenya Kwanza Alliance, which has utilized this area as a political backstage, President Ruto has been especially helpful.
This warning is in line with continuous efforts to advance peace and raises questions about how President Ruto is allegedly treating Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. In order to avoid inciting animosity toward Ruto, the deputy president, Ngunyi has advised Gachagua not to investigate any connections to the late President Uhuru Kenyatta.
