27 Rivers Lawmakers: They Swore To Affidavit In Court That They've Left PDP To APC - Dan Nwanyanwu

The chairman of the Zenith Labour Party, Dan Nwanyanwu, has made remarks on the 27 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly who have declared their intention to switch from the PDP to the APC.

He said that when these legislators swore an affidavit in court announcing their switch to the APC, they formally left the PDP.

Arise TV posted a video in which Nwanyanwu claimed that it makes no difference whether the 27 legislators subsequently decide to join another party or if their names are not yet on the APC membership list.

He argued that what counts is that they left the PDP lawfully and openly and that they made their defection known on television.

As said by Nwanyanwu, "Don't forget, they swore to affidavit in court on oath that they have left PDP and they are now in APC."

"It doesn't matter if their names have been included in the register of members of APC, and it doesn't matter if they change to another party. On their journey to APC, they may divert to another party; it doesn't matter if they didn't go anywhere at all."

"You left on your own; you have signed it on television, and you backed it up with an affidavit in a court of competent jurisdiction."
