Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag provided an update on the club's injury situation, revealing that Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial are set to make comebacks before the end of the season despite their contract situations, according to Daily Express.
Varane, who has been sidelined for four games following United's defeat to Chelsea, and Martial, absent since December, are both facing contract expires in June.
Speculation had arisen that they might not feature again for the club.
Ten Hag, however, assured fans that while contract negotiations haven't progressed, Varane will likely be available for selection soon.
He also mentioned Martial's progress, stating that he is on track to return in the upcoming weeks along with other long-term absentees.
One of these absentees, Mason Mount, is expected to return after missing matches against Coventry City and Sheffield United. Ten Hag confirmed this ahead of Burnley's visit to Old Trafford in the Premier League.
The manager expressed optimism about the injured players' recovery, saying, "Yes, I think we will see them [Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martinez, and Martial] all in the season.
They all returned to the pitch. Next week, they have to make the step into team training and they can be available for the last weeks. They progress well."
