A horrific car crash on the Nakuru-Eldoret highway has left two people dead, according to an eyewitness account. The eyewitness, who chose to remain anonymous, witnessed the entire incident unfold.

The eyewitness was driving along the highway when they noticed Kitale National Polytechnic bus approaching in the opposite lane. Suddenly, the bus began swerving erratically across the center line. The eyewitness realized the bus had suffered a brake failure, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

"The bus was hurtling towards us, completely out of control," the eyewitness recounted. "I could see the driver desperately trying to regain control, but it was too late."

The bus then slammed head-on into an oncoming car. The sound of the crash was deafening, described by the eyewitness as "metal crunching" and "glass shattering."

Tragically, two people in the oncoming car were killed instantly. "It was a horrific scene," the eyewitness said, visibly shaken. "The car was completely crushed, and there was nothing anyone could do to save the occupants."

Emergency services rushed to the scene, but the damage had already been done. "The bus was a mangled mess, and the car was unrecognizable," the eyewitness said. "It was clear that the two people in the car had perished."

The cause of the brake failure on the Kitale National Polytechnic bus is still under investigation. The eyewitness believes poor maintenance or a mechanical defect may have been to blame.

"This was a tragedy that could have been prevented," the eyewitness said. "These types of vehicles need to be constantly checked and serviced to ensure the safety of passengers and other road users."

The local community has been devastated by the incident, with many expressing condolences to the families of the victims. The eyewitness hopes that lessons can be learned to prevent similar tragedies in the future.

"No one should have to go through what those families are going through right now," the eyewitness said. "We need to do everything we can to make our roads safer for everyone."
