In a proactive move to ensure public safety and security during the upcoming rainy season, the Kano State Police Commissioner, CP Salman Garba, has ordered round-the-clock patrols and effective traffic control measures across the state.

As reported by PUNCH, The directive was issued by CP Garba during a meeting with Operational Commanders and Divisional Police Officers in Kano on Tuesday.

Addressing the meeting, the Police Commissioner highlighted the various security challenges associated with the rainy season and charged the 6 to respond promptly to emergencies and distress calls.

The Commissioner also instructed the Public Relations Unit to continue educating the public on security tips through weekly enlightenment programs.

Recognizing the importance of public awareness and cooperation, CP Garba advised the citizens to exercise caution during the rainy season. He urged them to drive slowly, avoid travelling during heavy rains, and ensure regular servicing of their vehicles.

"He also urged the public to report any suspicious movements or items to the nearest police station or through emergency contact numbers," the report added.
