The Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has said comprehensive economic reforms being implemented in the state have begun to yield tangible results, attracting a diverse array of medium and long-term investments into the state.

He said this development had stimulated a significant influx of investments into various sectors and generated jobs for indigenes.

The governor said this at press briefing to unveil the Nasarawa Investment Summit 2024 themed, “The Industrial Renaissance” on Tuesday in Abuja.

The summit which aims to provide a platform for world-class business leaders and captains of industry to brainstorm on how to achieve the state’s vision to become Nigeria’s top investment hub is scheduled to hold May 15 and 16.

This was as he asserted that the state has undertaken definite measures to seize the opportunity presented by the high demand for lithium and gas, stressing that the summit will seek to maximise foreign direct investment into the mining and energy sector.

Abdullahi disclosed that the government, in talks with investors from Russia, Japan, and China, was poised to establish a 4,000 metric tonnes lithium processing plant next month.

EFCC Returns Recovered Assets to Enugu Gov, Mba

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) returned 14 recovered assets to Governor Peter Mba of Enugu State during a ceremony held at the EFCC Headquarters in Abuja. These assets, including real estate, broadcasting equipment, and medical facilities, were forfeited to the Federal Government. The EFCC initiated an investigation into the matter in 2007, leading to convictions. President Bola Tinubu ordered the handover of these assets to the Enugu State Government in response to a request from the EFCC.

I’m not desperate to become next president, says Obi

The Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi, on Wednesday denied being obsessed about replacing President Bola Tinubu as the next president.

Obi came under fire a few days ago after he faulted the Federal Government’s timing and prioritisation of the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway project.

The LP presidential candidate advised the government to concentrate on fixing bad roads across Nigeria instead of striving to construct a white elephant project like the major coastal road.

But some critics trolled him on social media, saying he does not see anything good in what the current administration does because of his desperation to become the president in 2027.
