Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and his wife Hafsat, along with six others, are set to appear in court following allegations of bribery and financial misconduct involving substantial sums of money.

According to a report by Channels Television, the legal proceedings, scheduled for Thursday, stem from accusations that they were involved in the diversion and misappropriation of funds amounting to billions of naira.

The case has progressed after the Kano State High Court authorized substituted service of the trial notice.

This method was adopted when direct service of the notice was found to be impractical.

The court's decision, issued on June 5, 2024, mandated publication of the notice in two national newspapers the following day to ensure all parties were informed.

Among those named in the case are Abdullahi Ganduje as the primary respondent, his wife Hafsat as the second respondent, along with Abubakar Bawuro, Umar Abdullahi Umar, Jibrilla Muhammad, Safari Textiles Ltd, and Lesage General Enterprises.

Justice Amina Adamu is overseeing the proceedings, having granted the order for substituted service upon a request made by Zahradeen Kofar-Mata, representing the state government and lead prosecution counsel Ya’u Adamu.
