In an interview posted on YouTube by Channels TV, Moniedafe disclosed that his association with Tinubu dates back to 2006 when Tinubu served as Governor of Lagos State under the Alliance for Democracy (AD) party. He recounted how Obasanjo's actions weakened AD, resulting in the loss of five out of six state governors it had during the 2003 election. Despite Obasanjo's maneuvers, Tinubu resisted and remained as the sole governor in AD, earning him the nickname "the last man standing."

Moniedafe also underscored his dedication to progressive politics and his involvement in various capacities within the APC.( Photo credit : Channels Television Verified Facebook Page )

During an interview on Channels Television, he remarked, "We used to call Tinubu last man standing because he resisted all tricks of Obasanjo and remained. We merged to form APC. I mean well, I have been in the progressives since I came back to politics in 2006. I was chairman of ACN, I was in the campaign of Buhari in 2015 and 2019. I aspired or National Chairman and I gave my 5-point agenda"
