Senator Adolphus Wabara, chairing the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has cast grave accusation at the All Progressives Congress (APC), alleging that the rival party is conspiring to weaken the PDP by leveraging certain PDP members.
This purported scheme, he warns, aims to pave the way for a one-party dominance in Nigeria. The concern stems from a recent surge in resignations within the PDP, particularly in Imo State, which Wabara links to the undue influence of the APC.
As a former Senate president, Wabara vows that the opposition party, under the careful guidance of the Board of Trustees, stands ready to push back against any attempts to transform Nigeria into a single-party stronghold.
He stresses that the BoT, serving as the moral compass of the PDP, will swiftly intervene to thwart any deliberate fractures within the party. Wabara underscores the vital role of the BoT's seasoned expertise and unwavering integrity in defending the PDP's core values.
Furthermore, he asserts that the BoT is resolute in its stance against allowing the APC to manipulate select PDP members to undermine the country's democratic fabric by establishing a dominant one-party political structure.
As per The Sun, Wabara said, “The BoT will wade in expeditiously to avert the deliberate and planned extinction of this great party. The BoT, with its array of distinguished men and women of invaluable experience and integrity, will surely salvage the party. The BoT did it once and shall do it again no matter whose ox is gored.
“The BoT will never allow the APC to use some characters in the PDP to turn this beautiful and sweet nation into a one party state. “
