The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Benjamin Okezie Kalu has reacted after he was formally inaugurated as a member of the ECOWAS Parliament at the first Ordinary Session of the Sixth Parliament at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja.

Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu is a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Abia state.

Benjamin Okezie Kalu stated on his verified Facebook page; "Earlier today, I was formally inaugurated as a member of the ECOWAS Parliament at the first Ordinary Session of the Sixth Parliament at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja."

He added; "Delivering the goodwill remarks shortly after, on behalf of the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, Ph.D., I applauded the parliament for its immense contributions to strengthening representative democracy, promoting and defending human rights, upholding the rule of law, accountability, and good governance in the sub-region."

He stated further; "I highlighted the challenges confronting us as a region, which have placed greater responsibility on the ECOWAS Parliament to continue carrying out its legislative functions with increased vigor, passion, and commitment. With dedication, unity of purpose, partnership, and cooperation in our decisions and actions, we can overcome these challenges."
