Asue Ighodalo may still remain the PDP guber candidate despite Court judgement – Dan Osa-Ogbegie

The spokesperson of the Asue/Ogie Campaign Management Council, Dan Osa-Ogbegie, has, during an interview on Politics Today, a Channels Television Programme, insisted that the judgement of the Court on the issue of authentic delegates for the Edo State primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) may not stand; after he noted that the Court lacks jurisdiction to entertain the matter in the first place.


The Edo bigwig had said, "To correct the impression that the APC and other position figures are creating in the Media, so that people will not be misled, the Court did not in any way hold that the PDP had no candidate; it did not; the judgment of the Court at best was academi, because the Court was giving an order of mandamus for an action that has already been completed so there was nothing to enforce in that judgment. The judgment was completely empty. What we are appealing is that the Court did not even have jurisdiction to entertain that matter at all; the Court did not have jurisdiction. So it is a point of jurisdiction. In fact, the PDP had eight cases and they are all likeminded cases and out of these eight cases, three of them were in the Court of this – this particular Court and two of them have been dispensed...."
