According to Vanguard, The Labour Party (LP) has announced the launch of a mobile app for membership registration, allowing Nigerians worldwide to register as party members. This digital initiative aims to facilitate seamless membership validation and engagement between party members and leaders.

In a statement signed by Ambassador Aju Elumelu, Deputy Director of Media and Communications of the Labour Party Mobilization & Integration Directorate, the app will provide a platform for members to access exclusive content, participate in party activities, and receive updates. It will also enhance the party’s fundraising efforts, enabling members to donate and support the party’s activities directly through the app.

Elumelu emphasized, “The teeming population of our members and potential members, both in Nigeria and the diaspora, expect digital solutions that are easy to use, secure, and accessible on-the-go. With this app, they can register, track their membership status, and stay informed about party information and activities.”

The proposal, signed by Director General Mr. Marcel Ngogbehei and sent to the LP National Working Committee (NWC) through the party’s National Chairman, Barr. Julius Abure, underscores the need to transform the party’s operations into a world-class organization comparable to international standards.

National Chairman Barr. Julius Abure expressed satisfaction with the initiative, which is expected to enhance the party’s chances in the 2027 elections. Abure noted that the app will enable the party to capture accurate and verifiable data on its members, aiding in planning and decision-making.

“This platform will provide real-time membership figures across the globe at any point in time, indicating the party’s membership and voting strength,” Abure stated.
