Security man who stole vehicle of hotel lodger in Anambra arrested on his way to sell it in Niger

A security man working in a hotel in Anambra State who stole the vehicle of a hotel lodger in Anambra State has been arrested by men of the Niger State Police Command when he was on his way to sell it in the state, the command announced on Friday, July 5, 2024.

The state police command disclosed this on its Facebook wall, saying the security man, Henry Musa, aged 34 years, was arrested by police operatives attached to Sabon-Wuse Division following information received by the command.

He was said to have been arrested at Dikko, along the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway in Tafa area of Niger State with duplicate copies of the documents of the vehicle, a Toyota Camry, which he was said to have taken away after the lodger handed over the key to him.

The command wrote: "During interrogation, he confessed that he was a security man in a hotel at Awka and that the key of the vehicle was entrusted to him by the owner, while he decided to take it away, and took it down to Dikko in order to sell it."

According to the command, he had given more useful information to the police operatives and he has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation after which he is expected to be charged to court.
