In a bold move to combat corruption, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended six senior Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) officers for interrogation. The officers are suspected of participating in a large N6 billion fraud scheme.

According to the Punch report, the investigation is currently taking place at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja, following a formal request by EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, to NSCDC Commandant General, Ahmed Audi. The NSCDC officers were transferred to the EFCC as per Audi's directive.

While specific details of the inquiry are limited, sources confirm that the officers are facing thorough questioning regarding alleged fraudulent activities amounting to over N6 billion. The investigation does not involve the NSCDC Commandant General, who is not under scrutiny or in custody.

This development signals a significant advancement in the continuous fight against corruption within government agencies. The EFCC's actions display a dedication to transparency and accountability, ensuring the proper utilization of public funds.
