Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, the General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, has revealed what the church must do to get to be ready heaven In a compelling sermon titled "Purging And Preserving The Church From The World’s Corruption" delivered at the Workers Training Service,
Pastor Kumuyi highlighted the need for every believer to embody godliness and sanctity to ensure the church itself remains pure and holy. "We are looking at this chapter from the perspective of God’s church, glorious, godly, and gracious church," he began.
"God wants us to have the vision of what the church and every believer ought to be. If every believer in the church is godly, the church will be godly. If every believer is saved and sanctified, the church will be a saved and sanctified church."
He stressed the importance of individual commitment to these values, noting that the collective purity of the church depends on each member. "The Lord is coming for a glorious church. If He is to meet us so, every one of us must make up our minds and ensure that we are part of the glorious church. But if anyone is a spot or a blemish, we will not have a glorious church."
Pastor Kumuyi urged his congregation to self-reflect and seek God's strength and grace. "We should ask ourselves tonight what more we can do. Can we have more of God’s strength and grace in our lives so that we can be the kind of members and saints we ought to be?"
He concluded by referencing verses 7-8, calling it a commandment for every minister, member, and section of the church to purge themselves of any impurities. "As we do this, the church will be ready for the coming of the Lord, and we will know that we have done what we are supposed to do, and when the rapture takes place, none of us will be found wanting."
