East-West: We Can't Continue To Listen To Excuses Of Failure, It's Unacceptable-Jonathan Lokpobiri

Speaking with Arise News, Ijaw Youth Council President Jonathan Lokpobiri urged the government to end the East-West Road project's protracted postponement without further delay. The road, according to Lokpobiri, is as necessary as breathing for the inhabitants of the Niger Delta area.

He voiced his displeasure with the continuous justifications for the project's failure and emphasized that the completion of the road is crucial to the development and livelihoods of the region. The head of the Ijaw Youth Council has asked the government to fix the problems that have been stymieing the initiative and make better use of the funds that have been allocated. He stressed that the locals will not stand for inaction any longer and will instead demand action.

As he put it; It is intolerable, in my opinion as a Niger Deltan, if leaders keep providing reasons for the persistence of failure. We implore you to attend to the road before you address the underlying problems that are preventing the efficient use of the resources you have deployed. That Road is as essential to the residents of that area as air is to human survival. It is unacceptable that you can't even manage to keep people's breath going while making excuses for your failure.
