According to Standard, Chelsea have finalized an $18 million deal with Argentine club Boca Juniors to sign defender Aaron Anselmino, as confirmed by a source from the Buenos Aires club on Monday. Anselmino, who started his career at Boca at the age of 12 and made his first-team debut in 2023, attracted attention from European clubs such as Manchester United and AC Milan after just 10 appearances.

The agreement between Chelsea and Boca includes a condition for the 19-year-old to remain with the Argentine club for at least six more months, allowing fans to continue watching him play before he transitions to the Premier League. The source mentioned that while the transfer is finalized and paperwork is being exchanged, Anselmino will stay at Boca for the time being.

Boca president and former Argentina international Juan Roman Riquelme recently highlighted Anselmino's potential, expressing confidence that he will become a significant player and a future national team member. Boca, which also announced the signing of midfielder Tomas Belmonte on Monday, has not yet provided official details regarding Anselmino's transfer.
