Chidi Lloyd, the embattled chairman of Emohua local government area, has reacted to a court decision where the Court of Appeal in Abuja dismissed an order from the Rivers State High Court that had prevented Martin Amaewhule from acting as the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, and had also stopped 24 other Assembly members from accessing the legislative complex or performing their duties.

In a video shared by Channels TV, Lloyd expressed his gratitude for the Court of Appeal’s decision. He said that there is now nothing stopping Amaewhule and his colleagues from continuing their work to make laws that benefit the people of Rivers State. He also reminded everyone that Section 272, sub-section 3, prevents the state high court from handling matters related to the defection or tenure of state Assembly members.

In Lloyd's words: "There is nothing on the way of Martin Amaewhule and his colleagues from continuing to make laws for the good governance of the good people of Rivers State. Recall that everybody knows that Section 272 sub 3 acts as a clause that stops the state high court from entertaining issues that relates to the defection or otherwise tenure of members of the state house of assembly"
