A search for missing university student ended on a sour note after his body was found dumped in Juja, Kiambu County.
The body of Denzel Omondi Onyango was discovered floating in an abandoned quarry near Mashinani shopping centre in Gachororo area. The bloodied body was discovered by members of the public early in the morning.
The fourth year student at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) went missing on Wednesday, June 26, under unclear circumstances.
His family and friends got concerned when his phone went off and efforts to trace him became futile.
Area Chief confirmed the death terming the incident as murder. The administrator said that investigations into the murder had started though no arrest has been made so far.
The Chief also called on members of the public with any information to volunteer it to the authorities.
Police retrieved the body and transported it to the to the local mortuary for preservation awaiting postmortem.
