According to Metro, former England striker Michael Owen has identified the club he believes could potentially acquire Cole Palmer from Chelsea.

Palmer had an exceptional debut season at Stamford Bridge, registering 22 goals and 11 assists in 33 Premier League appearances. His outstanding performance earned him a nomination for the Premier League Player of the Year award and he ultimately clinched the Young Player of the Season accolade.

Despite his impressive form, Palmer's opportunities with the England squad at Euro 2024 have been limited while in Germany.

Upon his return to Chelsea, Palmer will reunite with a new manager, Enzo Maresca, who has succeeded Mauricio Pochettino at the helm of Stamford Bridge.

When asked about Palmer's future at Chelsea, Owen indicated that he cannot foresee the young talent leaving the Blues anytime soon. However, Owen speculated that everything could change if Manchester City were to make a bold move to re-sign Palmer, whom they sold for £42.5 million just last summer.

Owen shared his insights, stating, "For me, it’s all about whether one club offers significantly better prospects in terms of winning the league or Champions League. People always strive to advance in life, not just footballers but most individuals."

"He joined Chelsea because he wasn’t getting enough playing time at Man City. If he had the chance to join a team with better prospects for winning major titles, then it becomes intriguing."

"As things stand, are Liverpool more likely to win the Premier League than Chelsea? I would say so, but there are no guarantees in football."

"However, if Manchester City were to make a return bid and offer £100 million, then that changes the equation. But for now, I think he’s likely to stay where he is."

Palmer's future at Chelsea is a topic of interest following the departure of Riyad Mahrez, who had expressed a desire to leave after two seasons due to limited playing time under Guardiola at Manchester City.

"While Palmer has faced challenges in securing playing time during Euro 2024, he aims to contribute to England's quest for success as they prepare to take on Switzerland in the quarter-finals."
