According to Sky News, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called on former U.S. President Donald Trump to publicly disclose his strategy for swiftly ending the ongoing conflict with Russia, emphasizing the critical importance of safeguarding Ukraine's sovereignty and independence throughout any potential resolution process.
In an interview with Bloomberg Television in Kyiv, Zelenskyy stressed the urgency of the situation, stating "If Trump knows how to finish this war, he should tell us today." He added, "If there are risks to Ukrainian independence, if we lose statehood – we want to be ready for this, we want to know."
Trump, who currently leads in polls over President Biden ahead of the November election, has repeatedly boasted that if elected, he could resolve the Ukraine-Russia conflict before his inauguration in January. However, the former president has not revealed the specifics of how he would achieve this goal.
Zelenskyy expressed his willingness to meet with Trump and hear his team's proposed plans, stating "I am potentially ready to meet him."
The Ukrainian leader underscored the necessity of having both the determination and necessary resources to tackle the crisis effectively, emphasizing Ukraine's readiness to address the situation head-on.
