PAOK FC, a Greek Super League club, has announced its squad list for the upcoming pre-season training camp in the Netherlands, and Super Eagles central defender William Troost-Ekong has been included in the list, according to All Nigeria Soccer.

Troost-Ekong's inclusion in the squad suggests that he has fully recovered from the injury that kept him out of action since February 2024. The Nigerian international played through the pain barrier during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where he was named Player of the Tournament, and underwent surgery after the tournament.

The training camp in the Netherlands will provide Troost-Ekong with an opportunity to regain his match fitness and prepare for the upcoming season. PAOK will play four friendly matches during the camp, against AEK Larnaca, Hibernian, Racing Genk, and Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.

Troost-Ekong joined PAOK in the summer of 2023 and made 22 appearances for the club in his debut season, starting 21 of them. His performances earned him a spot in the Super Eagles squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, but he missed the recent matches against South Africa and Benin due to injury.

The defender's return to fitness will be a boost for both PAOK and the Super Eagles, as he is an important player for both teams. Troost-Ekong's experience and leadership will be crucial for PAOK in the upcoming season, and his presence in the Super Eagles squad will be important for the team's chances in the World Cup qualifiers.
