Tinubu not Nigeria’s messiah, will struggle for second term – Primate Ayodele

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, on Saturday, warned that President Bola Tinubu is not the messiah Nigeria needs.

Primate Ayodele, said Tinubu only came to strengthen Nigeria’s democracy but nothing much will happen to the country’s economy.

Addressing journalists in Lagos, the prophet also warned that Tinubu would have challenges contesting for a second term.

The prophet, warned that state police are not the solution to Nigeria’s insecurity problems.

EFCC corrupt, useless govt agency – Mompha

Popular businessman, Ismaila Mustapha aka Mompha, has described the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, as a “useless” and corrupt organisation.

Mompha’s outburst, was in response to the EFCC’s recent report that a staggering N35 billion was discovered in his bank account.

A prosecution witness, Idi Musa and an investigator with the EFCC testified in court that the money was found in two bank accounts linked to Mompha.

Musa spoke in the ongoing trial of Mompha, who is facing money laundering charges alongside his company, Ismalob Global Investment Limited.

We’re not against creation of Ogoja State – Ex-Govs, Usani, Ibas, others

Past governors of Cross River State, including Chief Clement Ebri, Senator Liyel Imoke, former minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Usani Usani, former presidential aide, Okoi Obono-Obla, member House of Representatives Alex Alex Ogbonna, have said they prefer to remain in Cross River State.

They and other key leaders of Cross River State central senatorial district, said they support every move made to actualise the creation of Ogoja State, but worry that the promoters of the movement for Ogoja State should not have added Abi and Yakurr LGAs, which are in the central senatorial district to the list of local government areas which are to form the new Ogoja State.

They said, “We are and wish to remain in Cross River State. The promoters ought to have consulted with us, before they submitted their proposals to the House of Representatives.”

In a statement signed on their behalf by the Chairman of Abi-Yakurr Peoples Assembly, Chief Patrick Iwara, and Secretary, Dr Sam Eno, they assured that Abi and Yakurr People are united in purpose to remain in Cross River State and that they are not opposed to the creation of Ogoja State.

Benue govt moves to boost oil palm production

Benue State Governor, Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has said the state government is targeting 10,000 smallholder farmers under the Benue Alia Palm Project, BAPP, in the state.

Governor Alia, disclosed this in Makurdi, during a sensitisation meeting with the Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and Heads of the Department of Agriculture in the state.

Represented by a member of the BAPP team, Mr Samuel Agwa, Gov Alia said his administration is set “to plant one million oil palms yearly and four million in the next four years and support 10,000 smallholder farmers to grow oil palms.

“We shall establish five processing mills to enhance value addition; create 20,000 direct jobs in the oil palm sector; increase oil palm production by 50 per cent in the next three years and promote sustainable farming practices and environmental protection.”
