Femi Adesina, former spokesperson for ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, recently shed light on Buhari's reserved nature. During an interview with Channels TV, Adesina recounted how Buhari deliberately chose to reside far from the capital city, Abuja, after leaving office to avoid attracting attention or meddling in the affairs of the current administration under President Bola Tinubu.

He referenced a statement made by Tinubu during a book launch, where Tinubu noted that he hadn't received any communication or recommendations for appointments from Buhari since his presidency ended. Adesina emphasized this as a reflection of Buhari's discreet personality, stating, "Tinubu said since Buhari left power, he didn't get a single call from him and he didn't recommend anyone for appointment. That is Buhari for you, not all former presidents are like that."

Adesina's remarks underscore Buhari's unique approach to post-presidential life, highlighting his preference for staying out of the limelight and refraining from exerting influence on political matters. This stands in contrast to the more visible and involved roles adopted by some other former presidents. Buhari's choice to maintain a low profile speaks volumes about his commitment to respecting the autonomy of subsequent administrations and prioritizing a quiet, non-interfering existence beyond his time in office.
