Tragedy struck Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State on Saturday as four suicide bombers launched attacks in different locations, leaving a trail of death and destruction.

According to the report by The Sun Newspaper on Monday, relatives of the victims have shared harrowing experiences of losing their loved ones in the devastating attacks.

The attacks, which occurred in Gwoza and Pulka towns, claimed the lives of 18 people, including children, adults, pregnant women, and a soldier.

Nineteen others were seriously injured and are receiving treatment at the State Specialist Hospital in Maiduguri.

Gwoza, located near the Sambisa Forest and Mandara Mountains, has been a frequent target of Boko Haram attacks, with hundreds killed, injured, and properties destroyed over the years.

The recent attacks have raised concerns about the resurgence of suicide bombings in the area.

At the State Specialist Hospital, relatives of the victims gathered, sharing their distressing experiences with the newsmen.

Buba Shehu, a resident of Gwoza, recounted how he lost five family members in the attack, including three who died during a wedding reception at their family house.

He said, "This is just like a dream; I have lost five people in my family in less than 24 hours.

He described the incident as a nightmare, saying it felt like a movie. Three died yesterday as a result of the dastardly act by suicide bomber during wedding reception at our family house in Gwoza."

The attacks have left the community in shock, with many calling for increased security measures to prevent such incidents in the future.

However, the Borno State Government has condemned the attacks, promising to support the affected families.
