The perceptive editor of Nations Capital, This Day, Iyobosa Uwagiaren, recently spoke with AIT during an interview, and offered incisive observations on the complex political scene in Rivers State. Uwagiaren reflected on the tension by bringing up Wike's strong statement during the chaos, which served as a reminder of Wike's steadfast position: "I might not emerge victorious, but rest assured, Fubara shall find no solace."

Uwagiaren voiced his doubts about the 27 lawmakers' motives and cautioned against trying to remove Fubara from office, saying that such a move could lead to a wider rift in society.

According to him, "I think what is happening in Rivers State is just politics. You remember the statement by Wike when the crisis started. He said, Look, I might not win the war, but I can assure you that you'll not have rest of mind in the next four years. He said that, but I think, like I said, it's all politics. It's about the contestation of power, but I don't think the 27 lawmakers mean what they're saying. It'll amount to war if there's an attempt to impeach Fubara in Rivers State."
