Professor Ishaq Oloyede had a different take on this presented JAMB results as he claimed this was the best JAMB results in the last three years. He stated clearly that UTME Examinations aren't meant to determine the students who pass or fail but to rank these students based on their performance. While addressing this topic, he stated that there has been an improvement in the performance of Students and the talks about bad JAMB results are uncalled for.

In an interview with Arise News Television today, he said: "This shows that our Secondary School Education is improving. Assessment is a very serious matter and you have used some terminologies that I was shocked about, You talk about pass and fail. We don't have those terminologies in ranking examinations. The results you are talking about are the best in the last three years and one of the best in the last 10 years that we have had. You see assessment is a serious business when we are talking about educational assessments, the examination determines the type and the format of results. People are talking about the results this year being bad if anything is bad not today things may have been bad before.
