Hundreds Of APC Members Defect To PDP In Ondo

Members of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Ondo State on Wednesday announced their defection to the Peoples Democratic Party.

The defectors, who are from the 208 wards and in the 18 local government areas of the state, said they were ready to work for the candidate of the PDP, Agboola Ajayi, so that he could win the November 16 governorship election.

The defectors were received by the PDP candidate and the state leadership of the PDP at the Akure town hall, Akure, the state capital on Wednesday.

Tinubu Means Well For North- Shettima

Vice President Kashim Shettima has assured President Bola Tinubu means well for the north with good intentions for the development of the region contrary to insinuations by some northern elites the President was against the region.

Shettima described President Tinubu as an exceedingly good man with a clean heart who has a lot on his sleeves for the entire nation. “He means well for Kano; he means well for the north and he means well for the nation,” the vice president said.

He spoke at Africa House of Government House, Kano, while receiving the Federal government high-powered delegation led by the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Bajabiamila, to condole with him on the demise of his mother-in-law, Hajiya Maryam Abubakar Albishir.

BOTH the Senate and the House of Representatives have cut short their Sallah break to have emergency penary sessions today, Thursday to deliberate on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s supplementary appropriation for the 2024 fiscal year.

It was gathered that cost of the yet to be acquired presidential jet will be included in the budget.

Recall that the Senate and tue House of Representatives had adjourned plenary to resume July 2nd. 


Yusuf Approves N4.8bn For Renovation Of Primary Schools

Kano State government has disbursed cheques of over N1.9 billion to the Chairmen of the Community Re-orientation Committee (CRC) for the renovation of primary school classrooms across all 44 local government areas.

The Governor also set aside N2,925 billion for the construction of additional classrooms in public primary schools.

These were made known in a statement by the Governor’s spokesman, Sanusi Bature
