Protesters Explain the Meaning of Coffins in Nairobi CBD

Hundred of protesters took to the streets of different parts of the country on Tuesday where they continued to express their frustrations against the Kenya Kwanza administration led by President William Samoei Ruto.

Among the regions which experienced intense anti-government protests is the Nairobi city county. The anti riot police were forced to fire tear-gas canisters to disperse protesters who turned violent. They also dispersed protesters who had begun looting businesses in the Nairobi Central Business District.

What took many surprised is after protesters showed up in the Nairobi Central Business District carrying coffins with Kenyan flags. The protesters dropped the coffins on the roads and disappeared on the streets.

They left the coffins on the roads while informing journalist that they signify the deaths of other protesters who were killed during the previous anti-government as well as anti finance bill protests. The police loaded the coffins on a truck and took them away.

Similarly, the peaceful protests which rocked different parts of Mombasa county turned chaotic after three people were shot dead. According to reports from Mombasa, the angry protesters set ablaze several cars before being dispersed to different directions.

While addressing the media, President William Samoei Ruto informed the nation that he will continue to guarantee Kenyans of their security as well as their safety.

He also sympathized with those who lost their lives during the anti finance bill protests. He also declared that criminals who infiltrated the peaceful protests will be arrested and charged in a court of law.
