On Sunday, March 24, 2019, the revered General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor E.A. Adeboye, spoke from the book "For Whom the Heavens Open (Part 49)" at the online service.

Pastor Adeboye spoke on the subject of aging, which is all too common, and how, although our bodies change with the seasons, God sees no change at all.

In his sermon, Pastor Adeboye used the life of Joshua to show the congregation that even holy people in the Bible had to deal with the effects of getting older. "According to Bible scholars, he was 110 years old when God spoke to him," he noted, mentioning Joshua.

Pastor Adeboye used the words of God to Joshua, "Joshua, you're old," to emphasize the need of divine recognition of one's age.

He went into further detail about how people often use cosmetic procedures to mask their actual age. Pastor Adeboye made the comment, "You can dye your hair black and think you are a young man, God is counting your days," in reference to a widespread practice.

But he cautioned that trying to change the way God sees things would be fruitless. He reassured, "Don't worry, the calendar in heaven is turning," stressing that God knows exactly how much time has passed in everyone's life.

In his speech, Pastor Adeboye reminded the congregation that God's perspective goes beyond human efforts to hide age. "You claim that God doesn't care about your days - Oh, he does," he boldly declared. His next words prompted contemplation and a search for the meaning of life from a spiritual viewpoint as he spoke about the heavenly view of aging and its significance.
