Renowned Yoruba movie actor Ibrahim Yekini, widely known as Itele, has opened up about his early struggles in the film industry and the supportive relationship he had with fellow actor Baba Tee during that challenging time. In a heartfelt interview featured on the official YouTube channel of Biola Adebayo Entertainment, Itele recounted the significant role Baba Tee played in his life when he was experiencing financial hardship.

Itele revealed that he was so impoverished at one point that Baba Tee employed him as his driver for two years. “When I was trying to recover from my losses, Baba Tee was the one who came to my rescue when he returned to Nigeria from London,” he shared. The actor went on to explain that he had previously purchased a car on credit, which became vital during his time working for Baba Tee. 

“I was very poor to the extent that my friend Baba Tee employed me as his driver,” Itele stated, explaining how he would drive Baba Tee anywhere he needed to go. In a show of generosity, Baba Tee offered Itele not only work but also a place to stay at his house during these challenging times. “I made some money from him, managed to rent a house, and was eventually able to settle my debts,” Itele expressed with gratitude.
