The Director of Strategic Communications for the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Council, Dele Momodu, claims that there is growing dissatisfaction among Northern leaders who had previously supported Tinubu. One example of this is the former governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, who is not involved in party politics.

In a statement, Momodu made this assertion. Furthermore, he thought that Tinubu's primary source of support in the 2023 election was the North. He hinted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will employ a range of tactics, including bribery and coercion, to undermine the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and create division within its ranks in order to win the election in 2027 given the state of the economy.

In a Channels TV interview, he declared, "APC will stop at nothing in 2027 to demolish the PDP institution." They will terrorise those who cannot be bought, purchase those who are, and ensure that the celebration is a complete mess. And the reason for this is because Tinubu's support base was in the North.

Many of the Northern leaders who backed Tinubu are upset; Mallam Nasir El-Rufai is seen pacing. Thus, the rubber is being given to them by the same man who gave them the pen. They are therefore anxious that they might lose power.
