With hours to go, Chelsea's injury list continues to enlarge as more players are injured. The recent name to be added in that list is Chelsea's Argentine midfielder, Enzo Fernandez, who recently played against the gunners at the Emirates on Tuesday night and was substituted off. He suffered from a groin issue, according to Chelsea f.c.
According to Chelsea f.c, the 23-year-old Argentine underwent a successful surgery and is now beginning a period of rehabilitation.The midfielder will miss the rest of 2023/24 season."The midfielder will now work with the club's medical department on his rehabilitation at Cobham".Mauricio Pochettino said on his news conference.
Enzo Fernandez has played a vital role in the club having forty three appearances for the club in all competitions. He has played for three thousand, two hundred and thirty minutes this campaign for the Blues. He has managed to score seven goals in all competitions being a holding midfielder.
In the Premier League, Enzo has three goals, a brace against Brighton and Hove Albion back in December and the other one against Crystal Palace back in February. In the Premier League he has played for two thousand, two hundred and fourteen minutes this season, with only twenty eight appearances.
In this campaign, he has started twenty six times, proving he plays a vital role in the midfield and the team. He also has two assists, has made twenty six clearances, thirty key passes and nine successful crosses.
Mauricio Pochettino has also confirmed that Levi Colwill, captain Reece James, Lesley Ugochukwu, Robert Sanchez and Christopher Nkuku are all in partial team training and they are not available for Saturday's match. He also asked the fans to have patience with the players as they continue recovering. Raheem Sterling will also miss and is undergoing medical assessment as well as Carney Chukwuemeka.
