"When I Joined Nollywood, Actresses Weren't Wayward Because You Must Dress Decently" Toyosi Adesanya

According to Toyosi Adesanya, a well-known Yoruba movie actress, she has disclosed the kind of culture and behavior she encountered on the ground when she joined the Nollywood movie industry. She has also stated how the bosses in Nollywood used to treat women during that time period.

In an interview that was captured on camera and uploaded to the YouTube channel of Oyinmomotv, she revealed that when she first started working in the Nigerian film industry, actresses were not allowed to act in a manner that was not appropriate because it was a requirement that they dress appropriately both in the movies and at the location.

In her statement, she said, "Since the time I became a member of the movie industry, my boss Yinka Quadri has always admired me, he used to say that I'm a brilliant girl because I don't speak Yoruba at that time.

"I was used in a movie role where I acted as an Americana due to my fluent English.

"My parents insisted that I complete my education before going into acting, and my bosses agreed and assured my parents that it wouldn't disturb my education.

"When I joined Nollywood, actresses weren't wayward because you must dress decently."
