One chance robbers who used tricycle to rob passengers in Sango Ota land in police net

Two robbers who used a tricycle to rob passengers after disguising as rider and passenger in what is commonly known as One Chance, have been arrested by men of the Ogun State Police Command after robbing their last victim, the command announced on Wednesday, April 24, 2024.

The state police command announced the development on its X handle, saying the two robbers, whose names were given as Emmanuel Edeki and Tobi David, were arrested by men of the Sango Ota Divisional Headquarters after they were apprehended by some residents.

It was gathered that the two men belonged to a syndicate that specialized in using tricycles to rob residents of Sango Ota by luring them inside their tricycles after which the residents are dispossessed of their belongings.

The command wrote: They are a syndicate that specializes in one chance robbery at the Sango Ota axis of Ogun State. Emmanuel Edeki and Tobi David. They will be prosecuted."

The menace of one chance robbery in which criminals disguise as drivers and passengers and lure their victims inside their vehicles or tricycles and thereafter rob them of their valuables has in recent time become almost a daily occurrence in the Lagos and Ogun axis of the country.

The police commands in both states have arrested some of the one chance robbers while many of their victims have narrated their terrible experiences in the hands of the robbers.
