President Bola Tinubu has been praised for his sincerity, courage, and forthrightness in handling the affairs of the country.

According to a statement by the National Coordinator No Alternative to Tinubu-Shettima 2023, Vincent G. Uba,

he commended Tinubu’s courage in his first year “to roll out difficult and painful policies to salvage a very sick country like Nigeria, without minding the hues and cries of the citizens.

According to Uba, without minding the pains that will be undergone by the citizenry, President Tinubu decided to administer short term painful and excruciating measures that will eventually lead to long term recovery of the country.

“Other presidents, for the fear of being seen as bad, had painted a picture of nicety and avoided taking bold and painful steps that would better the lots of the country in years to come.

Atiku in a birthday message posted on his X platform account on Saturday said, “To truly celebrate Prof Wole Soyinka, You Must Set Forth at Dawn. And that would be after a Telephone Conversation.

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has hailed nobel laureate, Wole Soyinka, on his 90th birthday celebration.

Referencing some of Soyinka’s notable literary works, Atiku in a birthday message posted on his X platform account on Saturday said, “To truly celebrate Prof Wole Soyinka, You Must Set Forth at Dawn. And that would be after a Telephone Conversation.

“The man of Ake, despite all the Trials of Brother Jero, and at a prime age of 90, remains a virile hunter in our Forest of a Thousand Daemons.

Ex-Rep rejects membership of Edo APC gov campaign council

A former Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Pally Iriase, has declined his membership of the National Campaign Council of the All Progressives Congress for the Edo State governorship election.

Iriase, whose name was included in the list released on Friday, said he was not consulted before he was included in the team and that he has since stepped aside from politics.

In a statement on Friday, Iriase wished the APC a successful campaign and a peaceful election and urged everyone to respect his desire to be excluded from the council.

The statement reads, “My attention has been drawn to the fact that my name is included in the list of appointees into the National Campaign Council for the governorship election in Edo State by the All Progressives Congress.

Biden refuses to quit campaign train as pressure mounts

A fired up Joe Biden again rejected speculation he would quit the US presidential race and tried to turn the spotlight on rival Donald Trump as he took his crisis-hit reelection bid back on the campaign trail Friday.

But as he addressed a lively rally in the battleground state of Michigan, the drumbeat of Democrats urging the 81-year-old Biden to step aside kept getting louder following a disastrous debate performance against Trump.

“There’s been a lot of speculation lately. What’s Joe Biden going to do, is he going to stay in the race, is he going to drop out?” Biden told supporters in the city of Detroit, to chants of “Don’t you quit!”

“Here’s my answer: I am running and we’re going to win! I’m not going to change that,” Biden said.
